Impact Roofing and Construction has worked with Travelers Insurance during home claims for many years. Travelers insurance customers are also our customers. If you need to file an insurance claim with them, it would benefit you to reach out to us first. We will assign you a personal insurance claims specialist that is familiar with Travelers insurance claims. They will walk you through the entire process from the first phone call, to representing you during the home claim inspections, and even the completion of your insurance restoration project. Here is an estimated process of the Travelers Home Insurance claim process. Any questions can be directed to one of our specialists 7 days per week at (703) 309-0749.
- Does your home’s exterior have damage?
This is a potential claim. But as with all insurance carriers, they will want to do a thorough inspection. The outcomes of the inspection are:
- No Payout: Due to either the wrong claim “date of loss” or not enough damage to cover the deductible. Click here to learn more.
- Half Payout: Repairs. They have decided not to replace any major components, such as your roof, siding, gutters or solar panels. Repairability is very subjective. Impact Roofing’s goal is decreasing the chance of “no” or “half” payouts. We succeed at this when we can help at the beginning of the claim’s process. We perform a pre-qualifying inspection with photos and accumulating information necessary in preparation for the upcoming Travelers Insurance inspection of your property.
- Full Replacement: Travelers Insurance has decided that an absolute full replacement of the damaged components is necessary (e.g. roof replacement, siding replacement, gutter replacement, solar panel replacement).
Impact Roofing will perform all pre-qualifying home insurance claims inspections for free. Know what you’re getting into, before you make your first call.
- Make the initial claim via phone or online customer portal.
Travelers Insurance will ask a few basic questions, such as when the damage happened (which there is no real way to know). If you give the wrong date, some previous damage, such as hail or wind, may not be covered. This could keep you from a full replacement and lean your claim’s outcome towards no payout of small repairs, when a full replacement is warranted. Travelers Insurance will ask for updated contact information, and if we performed an initial inspection, they will want to know the name of your insurance specialist, along with their contact number and email address.
- Travelers Insurance inspection of your home: We will support you and represent you during the inspection. We will follow them on your roof. We will crawl in the attic with them. We will be your eyes and ears.
- Writing the estimate: After the inspection, Travelers Insurance will decide which, if any, payout you will receive. This will come in the form of a denial letter or an estimate. The estimate may be for either small repairs or a full replacement. Impact Roofing will review Travelers’ estimate and make sure it is accurate in its scope. Prices are set through an estimating software that most of the major insurance companies use, called Xactimate. The prices are standardized. This is better for everyone— contractors can no longer overcharge, and insurance companies can be more uniform in their payouts. Material and labor prices are determined by zip code.
