  1. Do you have damage on the exterior of your home?
When damage is present, there is potential for an insurance claim. To determine the extent of the damage, an in-depth inspection is a required. The inspection will result in one of the few outcomes below:
  • No Payout will be granted if the wrong “date of loss” is recorded or if there is only a minimal amount of damage.
  • Half Payouts are given when there are warranted repairs. If only repairs are approved, then the insurance claim inspector has decided that no large items need to be replaced (i.e., your roof, gutters, solar panels, or siding). Although the insurance inspection is very thorough, we are aware that the outcome is very subjective. Impact Roofing’s goal is to eliminate the potential for a “no” or “half payout.” Therefore, it is important to get our team involved at the forefront of the claims process. Impact Roofing will represent you by taking photos during our pre-qualifying inspection. We will also make detailed notes to present with the photos when we meet with the State Farm Insurance Inspector.
  • Full Replacements are granted when the State Farm inspector concludes that all of those large components that were damaged on your home should be replaced.

Impact Roofing and Construction performs all pre-qualifying inspections at no cost. Our team’s pre-qualifying inspection will show you what you’re getting into prior to initiating the insurance claim process with State Farm.

  1. Make the phone call or submit your online request to start the claim process.
State Farm will request some basic information from you, to include the date of damage. The specific date is difficult to know. Previous damages like hail or wind may not be covered if the incorrect date is given. Even though your home may qualify for a full replacement, the wrong date could cause no payout. State Farm will also request additional information, to include updated contact information. You will be asked if anyone has performed an initial inspection. You will also need to give them your Insurance Specialist’s name and contact information.
  2. State Farm Insurance inspection of your home:
Our Impact Roofing team will be your eyes and ears during the entire insurance inspection. We will go wherever the specialist goes, whether it’s in the attic or on the roof.

  1. Writing the Estimate:
Upon completion of the inspection, State Farm determines which type of payout you will receive, if any. The final decision is relayed to you as an estimate or a denial letter. An estimate will include a breakdown of the costs, and we will help ensure the State Farm estimate is within the scope. Estimating software named Xactimate is used to estimate pricing, which can either outline small repairs or a full replacement. This software helps standardize pricing to aid in uniform payouts from insurance companies and prevent contractors from overcharging. However, the homeowner’s zip code is what determines the cost for materials and labor.
